I tried taping it to be able to use it but it just looks stupid. To my disappointment the ear jams are too big to fit the iphone earbuds. I though about gluing it from the inside but I don't want to damage my original earbuds. As others have said here it does not fit all models. I decided to buy regardless the review as I saw on their website it had the original iphone 8GB as supported.
So keep in mind, that these still suffer from many of the Griffin quality issues, but a little work makes them quite nice.Clearly, this isn't a great option for audiophiles and it dulls higher frequencies quite noticeably. Despite what some folks have said, these do not fit onto the headphones for the iPhone 3g. Thankfully, I had another two sets of broken Griffin headphones with similar, but heavier duty rubberized earbuds. However, I managed to solve the problem by rolling a very small cylinder of sticky tack around the iPhone headphones.
These are a pretty solid upgrade to the stock headphones that came with my iPhone 3g. Also, with the adapters on, my svelte headphones now are much larger and look a little like something Frankenstein would use. After switching this out they head phones stay in place much better and feel much sturdier. I run a couple of miles a day with my phone, and these guys eliminate much of the problems I was having with the headphones popping out of my ear when I run or would start to sweat.
The adapters now stick on very nicely.I found the ear nubs that came with the headphones to be very thing and not feel like they were going to stick to my ears. But for the price they prove to be an acceptable addition. They also are much more comfortable for daily wear around the house/office and really help to isolate sound and help me focus. Now, the down sides. The 3g's headphones are slightly different then the older iPod headphones these were designed for -- the hard portion where the cord comes in blends into the headphone, rather than the cylinder and 90 degree connection, and they are slightly smaller.
I highly reccomend these ear jams, because they make the sound much better, they are inexpensive, and they last a long time. The little case that comes with it and the spare covers and rubber pieces is a very cool bonus. Bummer.
They snap right onto your headphones, and vastly increase the bass, and reduce outside noise. I have the sort of oblong or oval shaped headphones, and that is the kind that fits. These are cool.
But I also have the round earbuds, and they do not fit. I will definitely purchase another pair when these wear out. Well worth the money.
Only one complaint- the first time I bought these, they came with a second, smaller set of covers that fit regular round earbuds.
However, I would not buy another pair becuase i miss the mid & high tones. I added a some tape to my earbuds and now they fit. I was also able to listen with a lower volume setting. The mid & high tones are not as crisp or loud.
The product does what it claims to. I guess i'll just have to fork out the extra cash and buy a way more expensive set of earbuds with microphone to work with my iPhone. I gave the product a 4 star because it did what it claimed. Unfortunately i did not read the description carefully.
They definately added a lot of bass.so much so that i used the EQ setting, "reduce bass". Griffin Technology 4039-EJAM EarJam Earbud Sound Enhancing Covers They did not fit on the earbuds with my new iPhone 3G. They definately stay in the ear.i shook my head violently and they stayed in.
I threw them away immediately. And as far as sound they make the earbuds sound like they are in the other room. Do not under any circumstances buy these things. They do not even fit onto the Apple earbuds.
